Un Esilio (An Exile)

The diary of an exile, a story in which fiction and reality are mixed. An invitation to walk, mediated by the memory and the reflections of the condition, perhaps sought, of exile.”

Valentina Vetturi

Valentina Vetturi was born in Reggio Calabria in 1979. Her works examine the relationship between performance and writing and force the perception of the everyday by the insertion of elements that upset the usual flow. Recent projects/exhibitions include: Un viaggio (Spazio Norbert Salenbauch, Venice, 2011), The Playground (Premio LUM, Bari 2011), La funzione (Naba, Milan, 2011), La macchina che produce il tempo (Masseria Torre Coccaro, 2010), La pendolare (Living Layers/Wunderkammern and MACRO Rome 2010). She is author of several publications, amongst which: La macchina che produce il tempo (published by Galleria Bonomo, Bari) and Un esilio (published by the Associazione Culturale Dello Scompiglio, Vorno, Capannori, Lucca). She was awarded the Mario Razzano prize and took part in various residencies including: FAAP- Fundaçao Armando Alvares Penteado (Sao Paulo, Brazil); Transient Space Summer Camp by Uqbar (Palanga, Lithuania); Viafarini (Milan). She is co-founder of the Radice Quadrata collective.
